Israeli Foreign Minister Condemns ICJ Ruling on Gaza Aid

JERUSALEM – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar issued a sharp condemnation of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on Thursday, labeling the institution politically corrupt and accusing it of being weaponized by Israel's adversaries. The criticism came in response to the court's latest advisory opinion on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

In a recorded statement distributed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sa’ar stated, “This isn’t a court of justice — it’s a corrupt political circus, exploited by Israel’s enemies as a weapon against it.”

The Foreign Minister's remarks follow a ruling from the ICJ on Wednesday, which found that Palestinians in Gaza “have not received sufficient supplies” of humanitarian assistance. The court subsequently issued provisional measures, ordering Israel to take all necessary steps to ensure the unimpeded provision of essential services and humanitarian aid to the enclave. The ruling also explicitly demanded that Israel halt the use of starvation as a method of warfare.

The non-binding advisory opinion was delivered in response to a request from the United Nations General Assembly, which sought clarity on Israel's legal obligations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
