Samuel Eto'o has resigned from his position as president of the Cameroonian football federation (Fecafoot). 

It was Monday February 5, 2024 during a meeting of the Fecafoot executive committee that Samuel Eto'o presented his letter of resignation to the members of the umbrella body. 

While this meeting was devoted to the assessment of the participation of the Cameroonian national team in the African Cup of Nations, CAN 2023 in Ivory Coast. 

Samuel Eto'o at the same time invited the other members of the office to do the same with all soul and conscience. 

After this announcement, discussions and deliberations followed, the members of the Executive Committee decided to continue their current mandates and subsequently unanimously rejected the resignation of the president
