In an epic semi-final this Wednesday, February 7  in Abidjan, the Ivory Coast Elephants snatched their place in the final by beating the formidable DR Congo Leopards with a close score of 1-0. Despite the domination of the Leopards in the first part, it was Sébastien Haller who turned the match in favor of the Ivory Coast thanks to a spectacular recovery from a corner in the second half.

Ivory Coast, who withstood the pressure and constant onslaught from their opponent, held on until the final whistle, securing their coveted place in the final. This victory marks a remarkable run for the Elephants, who overcame significant challenges throughout the tournament. They will face Nigeria in the final on Sunday, February 11, in what promises to be an electrifying clash.

In a journey marked by moments of glory and resilience, the Elephants showed their determination to reach the heights of African football. Their path to the final is the result of hard work, courage and team cohesion.

On the sidelines of this meeting this evening, it is appropriate to highlight the symbolic gesture of the Congolese players, who wore a black armband on their arm as a sign of denunciation of the genocide in eastern DR Congo. This gesture demonstrates the players' commitment to humanitarian causes and their desire to raise awareness of crucial issues beyond the field of play.
